BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A Boone County assistant prosecutor has been appointed to serve as a family court judge in West Virginia’s 10th district.
Elliot Workman, of Madison, W.Va., was appointed Monday to serve as judge in West Virginia’s 10th Family Court Circuit covering Boone and Lincoln counties, according to a news release from Gov. Patrick Morrisey’s Office.
In addition to Workman’s role as a prosecutor, she also brings extensive experience in private practice, having frequently served as a Guardian Ad Litem to represent the best interests of children in court proceedings.
Her background includes extensive work in family law, criminal law, and Child Protective Services cases, the news release said. She also previously served as a Mental Hygiene Commissioner, where she presided over matters involving individuals and families in crisis.
