MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Morgantown man has been found guilty of making threats to a family court judge through social media.
The Monongalia County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announced that a Monongalia County jury found Emmanuel Jones, 35, guilty of the crime of retaliation against a public official.
According to a press release, Jones was originally charged after a series of threatening Facebook posts made by Jones back in December 2022 following a family court hearing. Jones now faces a sentence of no less than one year in a state correctional facility with a ten-year maximum sentence, as well as a fine of up to $2,000.00.
